Story morals for " Parables for Life as a 21st Century Leader"

"Parables for Life as a 21st Century Leader" will be a collection of stories that contain applications for today's
leaders. These leaders may be in business, education, government -- many of the sayings apply to all of them.
Nationally published author Stuart Gustafson is accepting story submissions because stories that are written by
leaders AND followers in many segments will have a broader appeal to readers. As with all the books in the
Parables for Life in the 21st Century series, the stories are expected to include a modern narrative story, a
moral to that story (or the "lesson learned"), and applications for using that moral in today's life as a leader.

Here are just a few possible morals to the story:

There is no time for diplomacy when the ship is sinking; there is only time for decisive actions.
Rewards do not come to those on the sidelines (no risk, no reward).
Having intelligence does not make you smart.
Accountability belongs at the source.
Act everyday as if you are interviewing for your job.
The contribution by low man on the totem pole is usually the most valuable, although the least visible.
A line in the sand can be washed away by the next wave on the beach.
